Community Service

Please consider volunteering in a committee, leading an activity or even just helping with a community project. Your help will enable CFFU to increase the enjoyment of fly fishing.

AMERICAN RIVER CLEANUP
CFFU participates in the American River Parkway Foundation’s “Adopt the Parkway” program along mile 16 on the south side. We walk along the bikeway on this stretch of the River four times a year and pick up trash. DETAILS>

CREEK WEEK AT ARCADE CREEK
Each year we participate to clean up Arcade Creek at Del Paso Park on Auburn Blvd. We generally meet east of Watt Ave. and just west of the confluence of Auburn Blvd and Winding Way at the Bridge Road entrance to the park.

FISHING DERBY
One of the community service activities CFFU sponsors is the annual Fish Derby held for the mentally and physically challenged people from Sacramento County. EVENT DETAILS>

SPORTSMAN'S EXPO
We participate in the International Sportsman's Exposition event at Cal Expo each January to promote fly fishing, recruit new members, and raise funds for our youth programs. DETAILS>

YOUTH PROGRAM
Our volunteers participate in a variety of youth based activities from going into the classroom with casting lessons, delivering fish tanks to fishing outings at local events.
