An Honorary Member shall have the same rights and privileges as a Member, but shall not be subject to dues and will not have the right to vote. Honorary Members shall receive a complimentary newsletter subscription for one year. Honorary membership shall be for the life of the member.
The total number of Honorary Members of CFFU shall be at the discretion of the Board of Directors. A maximum of two Honorary Members can be selected each year.
The Committee on Honorary Membership shall be an ad hoc committee consisting of the three most recent past presidents. If these identified individuals are not current members in good standing, the president may appoint replacements from the current Board of Directors and if no past president participates the president may appoint a chairperson.
This committee shall serve as a screening committee for the formulation of recommendations to the Board of Directors.
Any member of CFFU can propose, to the Board of Directors, a candidate for Honorary Membership to CFFU. Each nomination should be accompanied by a on-page summary of the reason(s) for nominating the candidate and supportive qualifications of the candidate. This summary should include a statement explaining why the candidate is a person of eminence in the sport of fly-fishing, what outstanding contributions did this person make in support of the mission of CFFU, or what extraordinary meritorious service did this person provide to CFFU.
An Honorary Member shall be elected by two-thirds majority vote of the Board of Directors and, when possible shall be recognized with a permanent plaque presented at the Annual Dinner of CFFU.
