WEEKLY ACTIVITY & FISHING REPORT
by OTTER members

NOTE TO READERS:
The CFFU OTTERS reports are to share with you our latest fishing expereinces, where we went fishing, what was caught, what flies worked and what did not.  Also I have reported on scouting new fishing locations, tying new flies and talking about fly fishing equipment, as well as our luncheons and activities that follow.  OTTERS' activities will be reported to you each week on the CFFU website, giving you current events on fishing reports and other activities the OTTERS may be doing.  I sincerely hope these weekly reports are of interest to you.  We're looking forward to the day when you can join us old timer OTTERS for a day on the water, or just get together for lunch and tying flies.  Always remember everyone is welcome to join us.

Everyone is welcome to attend the CFFU OTTERS events.  Even the "working " folks who may have the day off - or, tell the boss that you have a doctor's appointment.  At least one e-mail is sent out before each and every activity; please respond that you will be attending and then just show up!

Fishing at Amador, by Bill Ozawa
Rich Miller, and Dick Thomas fished Amador on Tuesday and caught 4 and 6 respectivelly. The fishing has slowed somewhat, but they apparently are still there. Fishing was best on the east end of the lake, as they were the last few times we fished there. Since the weather has been so cold, maybe with the warmer weather, the fishing will pick up. One can only hope.

Fishing at Amador, by Bill Ozawa
OTTERS Dell Clark, Jake Mater, Rich Miller, Robert Rountree, Wally Kwan, Barry Tang, and his friend Clyde ___. and I (Bill Ozawa)  fished Amador. The lake continues to produce very nice sized fish, with Dell topping the catch with a healthy five pounder. He and Wally also netted 8 fish each, and Jake and Randy had 6 or 7 each. The rest of us could only boat a few, 3 or 4, but the fish were all very healthy, and fought well. Most were in the 16 -20 inch range, yet again. We are getting entirely too good at the long range releases, so even though we might not have caught large numbers, the day was not without excitement.

Fishing at High Hill Pond, by Glenn Yee
Seven OTTERS came out and had breakfast at Denny's this morning. Boy was it foggy this morning, but after we got to Shingle Springs the fog cleared. Some of you had emailed me and didn't show up at High Hill pond. Well, you didn't miss anything. The action was very slow. But I did manage to initiate my new Temple Fork fly rod, reel and fly line with a fish at the end of my tippet and fly.

Fishing at Big M Fishery, by Glenn Yee
Went fishing Tuesday at Big M. The trout pond water level was high and fish were jumping out of the water, also were chasing something in the water. Terry Tanner, Ross Boehm and I (Glenn Yee) and nobody else. Right flies always catch fish and I didn't have one. Those two guys had a ball of a time. The bass and blue gills pond action was dead, I guess the water is still too cold for them to move about.
