REPORT FROM JUNE 3, 2011 CLINIC

On 6-3-2011, Youth Program Chairman Gary Howard and a group of volunteers put on a program for William Land School at the Sacramento Marina. Teacher Pete Vega and 12 students arrived about 3:30PM.
Gary started out by showing a CD on fly fishing. The group was the split in half with 6 doing fly tying and 6 being
GARY HOWARD, DICK ANGUS, EARLENE COLDIRON and BRANDIE HERRON did an outstanding job of teaching the kids how to tie WOLLY BUGGERS. Looking at some of the finished flies, they looked really good
Photographer RICH WILSON rotated between the 2 groups taking photos and encouraging the kids.
Thanks again to all the volunteers that came out to help with the outing. This is what the club is about and the kids really enjoyed it. Once again, GARY HOWARD did a great job!
TIM LANDRUS, ARTHUR HERRON and JOHN COLDIRON introduced the class to fly casting. The kids took to the casting really well and after a short introduction by Tim, did a really good job for never having held a fly rod before.
